All configuration of the device including creating Shares and Users is done using the My Cloud Dashboard. One does not need to create an account at M圜 to use the device. One can disable that option if they so desire. One does not need to use the Remote Access or Cloud Access feature of the device. If you haven’t done so already you should read through the My Cloud user manual as it explains (generally) how to use the device. Smartware can likewise be downloaded from the WD Support site. Some have turned to using third party sync software like the Free File Sync ( ) for local network syncing/mirroring with the My Cloud.įor backing up a computer one can use Apple’s Time Machine if using a Mac, or Smartware if using Windows. More than a few have had trouble with the software. While one can use WD Sync software (which can be downloaded from the WD Support site) to sync user files from their computer to the My Cloud.
